I’m interested in any guidance on how to optimize a VR scenario for download / playback on cardboard. I know I know. The client is insisting, though. Currently I’m trying this on my iPhone and my scenario is still download, some 40 minutes later and at only 50%. Any guidance on:
Max scenario / immersion size? I fear I may have too much going on in terms of media (some 5 scenes, each 2 and a half minutes long.
Guidance to provide end users – a cheat sheet for how to get the content?
Guidance on optimizing video content (compression settings, etc.)?
I have since re-exported my video files to H.264 Mobile / 1080p from Premiere and that helped with the install of the immersion on my iPhone. It was a 5 min download. However, the button from the first scene to the next does not seem to work – just dumps to a white screen and I have to kill the app. Seems to work fine and function as expected in the preview online.
