The error means that the course tries to connect to the LMS but can’t reach it. This may happen if

    • Your internet connection isn’t working
    • You’re not logged in to the LMS
    • Settings in the course and the LMS do not match
    • You upload something else but the scorm package itself, e.g. if it’s zipped twice or similar

It’s difficult to troubleshoot as there can be many reasons for this error and I don’t know Illias.

    Can you share the package?

Is the course hosted in the ILIAS content management system, or somewhere else? If it’s somewhere else, you would need different publishing settings. Does ILIAS open courses in a new window, or the same? Again, different settings are needed.

What version of Lectora is that? It does not have the Seamless Play option, which should be in Lectora Publisher starting with V17. Is that Online, which I have never used?

Have you tested your course on SCORM Cloud http://cloud.scorm.com)?  It’s free and if the course works there, the problem may be an ILIAS bug.

    Hi together,

    thx for helping,

yesterday i have deleted the variables an made them new. (This was a Tip from a friend ) Now it works again…

i also changed two actions. Thats the only thing, what i have done.

the strange thing about the whole is, that the courses worked before, without any error messages.

Could this be a Browser problem? (but i tried the modul in every Browser)….nothing was updates since it worked before correctly.

Ps: the only bug, which i have found now, is that the variable “show username in our LMS” dont work (also this worked before) But i give it a look later…maybe i find the mistake by myself….otherwise i will post it and need profis 🙂

    have a nice day.

    greetings Marcel

There are occasional problems in Lectora in which the XML code in the AWT file gets screwed up (for instance, duplicate entries). This can sometimes be fixed, as you did, by deleting an object and making a new one.

If you’re brave and familiar with XML, you could edit the AWT file directly. I do not recommend this unless you’re very confident, and if you do end up doing it, back up everything first.

@CarlFink – Is development aware of the XML issue? Have you reported this to support?

@Jennifer, I reported the issue back in the days of Lectora X. It still happens occasionally, notably to one of my colleagues here last year. Often it’s the result of storing a Lectora course on a cloud storage server, something I know Trivantis was aware of back in Lectora X times because they mentioned it to me then.

I’ll bring it back to their attention.  It’s possible it was addressed in X or 12 but then came back up again. Darn technology always advancing lol
