I don’t know if this an old bug or new (I’ve just installed 17.1.7).

At the top level of a title I have a Next button with a fade in transition.

On one of the pages the button is not to appear, until the page’s activity is completed, so there’s a hide action (on page show). Alas the button appears anyway.

The only way I’ve found to get it to work (the button not to appear) is to remove the transition altogether.

It has always been like this. The object isn’t visible until the transition has finished, so you can’t hide it.

What you might try doing is this:

    • Disinherit the original button from the page
    • Copy the button onto the page
    • Set properties to initially hidden

In Lectora Intermediate training we set an object with a transition in as “Initially hidden” and the object does hide until a show action causes it to show. We just did this exercise this week, so I’m confident this approach works.
