Can I earn a badge for joining a group?
Yes! The Group Member badge will be awarded to once you’ve joined a group.
Once I join a group, how do I communicate with other members?
You can either post an update on the Home page of the group or (if enabled) start or respond to a thread in forums.
How do I change the name and description of my group?
To change the name or description of your group, select the Manage option then select Details. Change the information in the text boxes provided and select Save Changes. An additional option is available so that you can email members to notify them of the changes.
How do I change the privacy options?
To change the privacy options, select the Manage option then select Settings. From here you can change your group so that it shows up as Public, Private, or Hidden. Be sure to read the details before making any changes. From here you can also determine who can send group invitations. Select from all group members, only group administrators and moderators, or only the group administrator.
How do I change my profile/avatar image?
To add a profile image, select the Manage option and then select Photo. Upload or drop your files into the designated area. Then crop the image and be sure to select Save.
How do I see a complete list of members?
To see a complete list of members select the Manage option and then select Members. From here you can remove or promote members. For more details on either process, please review the information below.
How do I change my background image?
To change your background image, select the camera icon in the upper left corner. Select the file from your computer. We recommend an image that is 1400 by 425.
How do I add or remove a forum?
To add or remove a forum, select the Manage option and then select Forum. Select or deselect the forum option to add or remove it from the group. Please note that removing a forum will delete all information stored within it.
How do I post an update?
To post an update to the group, select the Home option. Enter in your update in the What’s New text box and select post update. All updates are public and can be seen by all members.
How do I start a forum conversation?
To start a forum conversation, select the Forum option. Select the New Topic button. Enter in a title and text for your post. Administrators will see a Topic Type option. Select the sticky option to leave the topic at the top of list no matter how many posts are later added. This selection is suggested if you add a welcome post where you introduce the administrator and moderator, ask members to introduce themselves, and/or answer frequently asked questions. From the Topic Status drop down you can leave the post open (or available for comments) or closed (commenting feature turned off). We recommend that you set all posts to open. You can add an attachment to a post if necessary. Select Submit to post your forum topic.
How do I subscribe to my group’s forum?
To subscribe to your group’s forum, navigate to the Forum option. Then select the Subscribe button at the top. You’ll receive an email and notification when someone posts something in your forum.
How do I invite people to join my group?
To reduce the amount of group spamming on the site, you must first become friends with a Community member. Once you’re friends with people you want to invite, select the Send Invites option. From the list provided, select the member or members you want added then select the Send Invites option at the bottom of the screen. An email and notification will be sent to the member asking if he or she wants to join your group. For further Trivantis assistance, please add me @jvalley0714 to your group.
How do I remove someone from my group?
To remove someone from the group, select the Manage option and then select Members. Find the member from the list. If the member is displaying obvious spam activities or offending members of the group, select the Kick and Ban option under his or her name. If you want to remove someone from the group from any other reason (i.e. inactivity), select the Remove From Group option.
What is a moderator and how do I add or remove one?
A moderator is someone who can edit, close, and delete any forum topic or post in the group. We recommend that you reach out to a member before promoting him or her to a moderator role. To promote someone, select the Manage option and then select Members. Find the member from the list and select the Promote to Mod option. The member will now appear in a new list at the top of the Members page under Moderators. New options appear under their name. If you no longer want a member to be a moderator, select the Demote to Member option.
What is an administrator and how do I add or remove one?

Can I send a private message/email to my group members?
No, at this time communication is limited to updates and forum conversations.

Do I have to manage spam in my group?
Yes. If you added me (the Community Manager) as a member, I will check in on your site from time to time. However, control over members and forum spam is your responsibility. If a member continues to be an issue, please contact me or firstname.lastname@example.org .
How do I delete my group?
Please contact me or email@example.com before deleting your group. We’d love to know the reasons why you won’t be continuing the group. We can also request that someone else in the group continue it for you, or someone from Trivantis may volunteer to take over the group.
