Getting Started Checklist
- A copy of the Lectora setup file
You will need a copy of the Lectora Inspire or Lectora Publisher setup file. You can download the latest copies of our install files from our website:- Inspire – http://trivantis.com/inspire-full/
- Publisher – http://trivantis.com/publisher-full/
*Remember to note where you save the Lectora setup file on your computer.
- Your Lectora License Key
Lectora license keys are a 13 to 17 character-long mix of numbers and letters. Please contact your Account Representative if you have not received your license key. License keys for Lectora are different for each version. A Lectora 18 license key will only work with Lectora 18. Lectora 17 license keys only work with Lectora 17, etc. - Ability to “Run as Administrator” or login as Windows Administrator
Lectora must be installed by right-clicking the setup file and choosing “Run as Administrator” from the menu. Even if your personal account has administrative privileges, you will still need to right-click and choose “Run as Administrator”. Please contact your IT Support if you do not have access to run the installer with the Windows Administrator account. - Reboot your computer and close any running programs
Please reboot your computer and make sure to close any open programs. In particular, check that SnagIt, Camtasia, and any Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook) are closed. Many programs will run in the background in your system tray. You can close them by right-clicking their icons in the system tray. - Re-Installing or Moving Lectora
Your Lectora license key can only be used on one computer at a time. If you need to re-install Lectora or move Lectora to another computer you must uninstall it from the current computer first. Use Add/Remove Programs within your Control Panel while connected to the Internet to uninstall Lectora. This will release your license for use with the next installation.
Existing Lectora Installations
Lectora 18 will not overwrite any current installation of Lectora 17 or older.

Is there a way to change your user name?
Which username? For ReviewLink or ELB?
If lectora is installed in German, is it possible to change the interface language to English…and how?
No, you would need to uninstall and reinstall to change the language from German to English.
Can I reinstall just SnagIt? ( I don’t want to reinstall my whole suite and risk impacting the courses I have in development)
Yes, you can choose the “custom” option which gives you the choice of which programs you want to install.
Yes, you can re-install just Snagit. But you need to use the regular Lectora installer .exe file and select a “Custom” install, not the default.
Good Day
PLease advise if the Lectora Inspire license is registered to an e-mail address. If so , is it possible to transfer or assign to a new user/e-mail address?

Please explain what is offered in terms of User and Group administration concerning off-site access to Coursemill. We would like to be able to control who can access as well as when (for hourly employees).
Hi,
I’ve installed the Lectora suite with Camtasia, SnagIt etc for one of my users. I ran it with my admin account and put all the details including activation key in the boxes. I set up the proxy appropriately and when I click ‘activate now’ it returns the error ‘the certificate authority is invalid or incorrect’ Please advice
It sounds like the key you entered may have been incorrect. Double check that 1’s (ones) aren’t I’s (i) and o’s (zeros) aren’t O’s (o’s). If you continue to have the issue please contact support via their form for assistance. https://www.trivantis.com/support-help
Would an update to Windows (Windows 7 to Windows 10) cause any Problems to the installed Lectora on my Laptop?
Our IT department has attempted to install Lectora Inspire on Windows 10 multiple times. Lectora and Camtasia work fine, but when trying to launch SnagIt we keep getting the error message “The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b).” They have attempeted to use the Custom Install to install SnagIt to the Program Files folder instead of the Program Files x86 folder, but it keeps going back to the Program Files x86 folder. Is there a fix for this?
Hi,
is it possible to have Version 12 and 16 installed on the same PC?
