cmooraces replied to the topic Remove URL and Tab and Bookmark bars in the forum Lectora Questions & Answers 8 months ago
You can control the menu bars and other window features in a window that opens from a Lectora file that is open. But the launching of the first window is done by the LMS. You can’t have any impact on the window once it is opened.

The first question you need to ask is if the data is making into the LMS’s stored SCORM variables. If you have direct access to the database, see if the bookmark is actually being set. Then check the suspend data to see if the other variables are being saved.
You need to know if the LMS is getting the data and the course is not retrieving it or…[Read more]

cmooraces replied to the topic Keyboard Navigation without Tab Key? in the forum Lectora Questions & Answers 1 year, 1 month ago
You can use an on key stroke action to set the variable of the question. So if you hit “a” on the keyboard, the action could be set to make the variable of the question be the value of the first answer. But you have to program the action for each answer AND program it uniquely on each page that has a question as the variables are different. But…[Read more]

Well then it’s a matter of how your data is being stored and retrieved. And it sounds like its a custom script so I’m afraid I may not be of much help. Without LMS variables and data storage/retrieval, its all about how you program the scripts to use the data. And that is a much larger question and solution than I will be able to provide.

If you are saving to the database, isn’t that SCORM? What LMS are you using?
The actions are the same regardless. But you need to have them be persistent variables when you setup the actions.

cmooraces replied to the topic Importing in the forum Lectora Questions & Answers 1 year, 7 months ago
Sorry, I don’t think that’s happening…ever. While different authoring tools publish to a common SCORM standard, they all operate very differently. Lectora wouldn’t know how to distill Articulate content back into a Lectora format. Some things like Captivate integrate with Lectora but again i’m not sure about doing a straight import.
All of the…[Read more]

if you are using the time function in SCORM you can force Lectora to submit all variables to the database by executing an action on each page that is a go to web address and entering javascript:LMSCommit(). This will send all of the data to the LMS that is a persistent variable. I wouldn’t put it on the NEXT button but rather the first action on…[Read more]

cmooraces replied to the topic 17.1.2 – When?? in the forum Lectora Questions & Answers 1 year, 10 months ago
I believe that the use of the older es6-promises might be the reason why actions aren’t firing correctly. This library controls asynchronous actions which would explain the problems in scripting within audio clips and other actions.

cmooraces replied to the topic 17.1.2 DIDN'T fix the audio issue!! in the forum Lectora Questions & Answers 1 year, 10 months ago
In 17.0.6 I can insert an audio file and fire actions throughout the duration of the clip. We’ve been using this extensively for some time.
When I upgraded to 17.1.1 and then 17.1.2, any audio clip would cause onshow page actions to not fire. Also, none of the actions that were added to the audio clip would file. Also, the player would not be the…[Read more]

If you put an audio clip on a page in 17.1.1 or 17.1.2 then no actions will play whatsoever. None. i can’t get actions to sync to the audio nor will any other actions fire. VERY bad.

Since upgrading to 17.1.1 I can’t use audio clips. They don’t use the default controller I choose. Each browser shows a different controller and there’s nothing I can do about it. What’s worse is that I really use sync events to bring in elements and perform actions in the audio clip. And NONE of them will work.
Any old file I created can’t be…[Read more]

Well it released today and didn’t fix the audio action issues. This is frustrating as hell.

I’m having so many issues with 17.1.1 that I’m really hoping 17.1.2 will fix. The known issues have been updated with notes on 17.1.2. Anybody know when the actual patch will be available?

I have also had a host of problems with 17.1.1. Audio sync actions don’t fire at all.
With the test, if you want to have something that submits the test, try taking your questions and put them all in one test section. Then create a second test section with a single page that has no question on it. Just put the submit button on it. Turn off…[Read more]

No, I choose the default player but when it publishes it the player is different. And none of the actions will fire from the sync events panel. Not only that, no actions will fire anywhere else on the page. A simple show/hide won’t work if the audio clip is on the page with sync events flags.

Delete the action and create a new one. Then republish and see if it works.
When testing, turn on the debug window and have it show actions fired. See what happens on the page and if there are any other actions firing.

I am having issues with actions not firing in 17.1.1 too. On that page, do you have other actions that fire? Is there an audio clip on the page?
