    @jmortenson I was in your LUC17 presentation Sneaky Tricks 2. I started thinking about your layered button states, specifically for your TOC buttons (Page 1, Page 2, etc.). I think you could make your “On” and “Done” layers the Not Started and Completed parts of a status indicator. That way you wouldn’t need an action for each button to check if Done should show.

    I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

      regarding the status indicators and button states, interesting idea. I like sneaky solutions. If you give that a go, let me know how it works for you.

      As I think through it, my approach may yet offer some benefits. The theme behind my approach is that by building it yourself you can tailor the functionality to your needs.
      For example, on a TOC button, I can move the HOVER state “in front of” the DONE state if I want to be able to see a hover even after a topic is done… or not. I am not sure how easy that would be in your scenario.

      Building things myself has become easier than trying to get pre-fab elements to dance how I like. If that makes sense.
