Laura holds a B.S. in Communications and an Ed.M. in Education from Boston University and has been an educator for over 25 years. Currently, she is a Senior Learning and Development Consultant, E Learning Specialist for the Knowledge and Learning Infrastructure department at Sun Life Financial, a leading international financial services company. In this position, she is responsible for designing and developing e-courses, setting e-learning standards and strategies, researching various types of learning solutions, and providing quality assurance for e-courses, training documentation, and instructional design. Laura is Chairperson of the New England Lectora Users Group and her company’s enterprise-wide E Learning Community of Practice and has also consulted on e courses for LOMA, a major insurance-industry organization.
Laura has presented sessions at the eLearning Guild’s 2004 eLearning Producer Conference, 2005 eLearning Instructional Design conference, and 2007 Annual Gathering conference, as well as the Training 2003 and Training 2005 conferences and 2007 and 2012 Lectora User Conferences. She has also done presentations for the LOMA Training & Management Development and Customer Service committees and the New England Lectora Users Group.
In her personal life, she is a media maven, enjoying all forms of media, especially television, books, and computers, She leads a Classics Book Group and likes to crochet. She also loves eating a wide variety of foods and is always on the lookout for something new and tasty-sounding to try!
